Abstract

PyRx is a state-of-the-art virtual screening platform designed for computational drug discovery, offering efficient screening of large compound libraries against biological targets. Widely adopted in bioinformatics and computational biology, PyRx is recognized for its strength in molecular docking and interaction analysis. One of its key advantages is an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that simplifies complex docking workflows. It integrates seamlessly with Auto Dock 4.2 and Auto Dock Vina, enabling accurate predictions of ligand–target binding affinities. PyRx also supports energy minimization of molecular structures, facilitating high-quality docking simulations. Its ability to run on Windows, macOS, and Linux ensures broad accessibility and platform independence. The typical PyRx workflow involves importing and preparing molecular structures, configuring docking parameters, executing docking simulations, and conducting post-docking analysis using integrated visualization tools. Its applications span drug discovery, structural biology, and academic research, making it a valuable tool for identifying potential drug candidates and exploring molecular interactions at the atomic level
