Abstract

Persalized medicine is transforming health care by providing treatments tailored to an individual’s genetic make, lifestyle, and disease profile. Natural products, derived from medicinal plants, microorganisms, and marine organisms, have long served as valuable sources of therapeutic agents in traditional and modern medicine. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with natural product research is opening new opportunities for developing personalized therapies that are safer, more effective, and evidence-based. AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and predictive analytics, can rapidly analyze extensive datasets containing genomic information, phytochemical profiles, clinical records, and patient responses. This enables researchers to identify bioactive compounds, predict therapeutic outcomes, optimize dosage, and minimize adverse effects for individual patients. Traditional knowledge from Ayurveda, Siddha, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other indigenous systems also plays a vital role by providing valuable information on medicinal plants that AI can scientifically validate and prioritize for further research. Recent advances in AI-assisted drug discovery, molecular docking, metabolomics, and virtual screening have significantly accelerated the identification of novel natural compounds with therapeutic potential. Despite these technological advancements, laboratory experiments and clinical trials remain essential to confirm the safety and efficacy of AI-generated predictions. The combination of traditional natural product research and AI creates a powerful platform for precision healthcare while preserving centuries-old medicinal knowledge. In the future, this interdisciplinary approach is expected to revolutionize drug discovery, improve treatment outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and support the development of sustainable, personalized medicines for chronic diseases, infectious disorders, cancer, and other global health challenges.
