Abstract

Quantum computing is an advanced technology that uses qubits and the principles of quantum mechanics to solve complex problems faster than classical computers. In healthcare and pharmaceutical research, it offers significant opportunities for innovation. Quantum computing can accelerate drug discovery through accurate molecular simulations, analysis of drug–target interactions, and prediction of protein folding. These capabilities help reduce the time and cost involved in developing new medicines. The technology also supports precision medicine by enabling personalized treatment approaches based on patient-specific data. Furthermore, quantum computing can improve disease diagnosis, biomedical research, and healthcare decision-making. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, it contributes to efficient and sustainable production by optimizing processes and reducing waste. Although challenges such as high implementation costs, qubit instability, and system errors still exist ongoing advancements are improving its practical applications. Overall, quantum computing has the potential to transform healthcare and drive the development of faster, smarter, and more effective medical solutions.
